Craig Richey
Neverblue Affiliate Manager, Craig Richey, moved from Smithers, BC to beautiful Victoria in 2002 to attend the University of Victoria. Craig pursued his cycling career in earnest while completing his Commerce degree. He began training and cycling at a competitive level, partly in thanks to the diverse terrain of Victoria. Throughout his studies he balanced an intense training schedule with a full university course load and somehow came out with an honours degree and a reputation as a top cyclist in Canada.
After graduation, Craig joined the Neverblue team as an Affiliate Manager. Neverblue offers employees flexibility to meet their personal goals and for Craig that means working remotely when training and competing. "Because of the nature of Neverblue's business, and the passion we hold for our employees, we are very fortunate to be able to provide such benefits for staff members," said Dawn Robson, Director of Human Resources.
Craig currently trains six days a week, in road, mountain, cyclo-cross and cross country biking and can often be found riding for hours after work with a headlamp on his bike. He has been featured in numerous local newspaper and Canadian and American cycling websites, and holds sponsorships from AviaWest and Oak Bay Bikes. "Neverblue has been amazing in terms of flexibility with training and competitions; I have the ability to advance my career as an athlete and a professional. Without their support I may not be where I am today," said Craig. He is presently ranked top 10 in the Canada Cup Circuit, and is working towards the 2012 Olympics in London where he hopes to compete in mountain biking.
